R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Security Technician at our Jacksonville, FL Service Center. This individual would be responsible for the Installation and Service of all Security Systems, such as Access Control, CCTV/IP Cameras and Intrusion Systems within a given region. In addition, this individual basic PC skills, their own Hand Tools, a Clean Driving Record and the ability to Travel Extensively.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install and provide routine service to Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, Fire alarm, and other related security systems at multiple locations.
- Must possess the ability to conduct basic troubleshooting techniques, and escalate when appropriate for resolution.
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
- Completion of various types of installations, and completing them under challenging project deadlines.
- Recognize, address and resolve issues related to project installation.
- Conduct tests of installation to ensure functional and quality standards are met.
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance on existing equipment and devices.
- Ability to teach and train end users and apprentices when needed.
- Prepare documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (e.g. daily work reports/log, As-Builts, time and materials, key and material records, Inventory, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with regulations and/or conveying project information.
Requirements:
- Position requires a high level of efficiency, attention to detail, time management, quality control, and teamwork.
- Self Motivated.
- High level of communication.
- Positive attitude.
- Be willing to utilize aerial lifts for service and installation.
- 2-5 years’ experience in low-voltage/network cabling and infrastructure.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- The ability to travel extensively.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Constant Professional.
Preferred:
- 2-5 years’ experience in a related security field.
- Proficient knowledge with Security Systems: Intrusion, Access Control, CCTV. and Fire Systems
- Electrical expertise including knowledge of digital Electronics, Relays, AC & DC circuits and an understanding of parallel and series resistor circuits and their effects.
- Computer skills including database basics and knowledge of remote access processes.
- Possess the ability to mentor and train end users and other team members.
- NICET and/or State Fire Alarm Certifications.
