To ensure the quality, timeliness, accuracy and completeness of each direct/shared mail project by providing a complete and accurate sample, periodically checking and counting production, answering Operator questions and providing assistance to the Supervisor. To ensure compliance with US Postal regulations and procedures by documenting quality start up and checks by ATZ are accurate.
Responsibilities:
• To review job jackets, manifest for accurate Advertisement distribution, checks stock, label quality, etc. to ensure accurate and quality products are produced.
• To prepare and sign-off completed quality samples for three to ten machines and/or projects that may be produced simultaneously on each shift to ensure properly scheduled sections, pre-prints and products are being produced.
• To periodically check production on each machine to ensure it is complete and accurate
• To inspect the contents of inserted package, quality of labeling and sorting to ensure the packages are complete and advertising products are being distributed to the zones requested.
• To tabulate and input quality data from machine checks into the database using Microsoft Excel or Access.
• To strive for a high degree of quality and quantity in all products produced to meet customer/division requirements.
• To inspect the work area daily, insuring that it is exceptionally clean and well organized.
• To be familiar with and adhere to departmental policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards of performance, attendance policy, substance abuse policy, housekeeping, safe working habits, etc.
• To maintain effective and open communication with supervisors and co-workers on any error or accident that will either impact the production and/or distribution of the product or result in a missed mail day; and, to report to the supervisor other matters requiring his/her attention.
• To perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Should have a High School Diploma or equivalent related experience. Must have knowledge of the operations of Local Values, Letter Shop Solo Mail, manifest and distribution system.
• Must have some knowledge of Access data entry, email communication, and Excel.
• Requires repetitive kneeling and bending, walking and standing for long periods of time and the ability to lift 35 pounds.
• Must have the ability to work independently and work under deadline pressure.
• Must have effective interpersonal skills and the English skills to communicate with all personnel. Must have the ability to read and understand job jackets and manifest and effectively communicate the job requirements to the Operators.
• Typically requires three to six months experience in a high volume direct/shared mail operations to meet standards in all aspects of the Quality Control Clerk requirements.
• Position requires working in production areas while fork-lifts, pallet jacks, inserting and related equipment is in use. Working in this environment directly results in exposure to paper dust in the air and high noise levels from running equipment.
• Knowledge and understanding of company’s policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA privacy and data security requirements.
