Role Responsibility
As a member of the Children's Games team you’ll work collaboratively within a cross-functional team to test the HTML5 games for some of the UK’s most recognisable and loved Children’s TV shows and characters. You will also work closely with design and development agencies to ensure they produce games that adhere to Company standards of quality.
The role will include the following activities:
• Help define and manage our testing processes across web.
• Hands on testing of our web products using both manual and automated approaches where appropriate.
• Daily liaison with the product owner(s), technical lead and design teams to ensure the definition, design and testing of new features run smoothly.
• Be responsible for work quality, ensuring it meets the testing standards for all Company D&E output.
• Help refine our testing processes across all our web delivery work streams.
• Provide testing advice to the editorial and design teams.
• Help develop tools and methodologies to improve the effectiveness of our testing activities.
• Collaborate effectively with other technical teams and clients of our services to ensure the utmost Audience experience.
• Seek opportunities to employ new testing methodologies across our teams.
• Keep abreast of developments in testing approach / methodologies particularly related to mobile devices and the web.
• Review the work of other team members and provide assistance as directed.
• Assist with training of new team members and trainees as required.
The Ideal Candidate
A successful candidate will be skilled in some of the following:
• Manual and exploratory testing across web and mobile devices.
• Automated testing using standard frameworks (Selenium).
• Identifying opportunities for test automation.
• Source control systems such as Git and GitHub.
• Experience of working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience of test management tools (JIRA, TestRail).
• Adopting a “can do” positive attitude, a willingness to learn and collaborating with colleagues and learn new skills.
• API / backend testing.
• Cloud based testing (AWS preferred).
• Javascript.
