The Manager of Public Relations is responsible for consumer and trade publicity for several Hearst Magazine brands, as well as supporting select corporate and executive initiatives.
Duties include:
• Working closely with editors and publishers to identify promotable news,
• Pitching editorial content to print, digital and broadcast media
• Managing red carpet and event press
• Publicizing partnerships and marketing initiatives
• Writing press releases
• Developing media lists
• Creating comprehensive briefing books and coverage reports
• Managing overall brand reputation
Required Experience
3-5 years of experience in media and/or public relations preferred. Ideal candidate will be strategic, highly organized, able to quickly prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with an interest in and knowledge of the lifestyle, food, fashion, men’s and home categories.
The candidate will have a track record of generating positive results in consumer and business press, comfort and confidence when interacting with senior executives and solid relationships with reporters and producers.
Must be a skilled writer and copy editor, and conversant in digital and social media. Good judgment, attention to detail, the ability to plan ahead, work efficiently and meet tight deadlines are essential.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge
Degree in Journalism or Communications
Public Relations and/or Agency experience
Strong knowledge of social media
Mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint/Keynote, Excel and CisionPoint
