Company is seeking a creative, strategic, and organised public relations (PR) manager to join our growing Australian and New Zealand team. While your deck strategies and APM do not need to be pro-level, your communications skills do! The ideal candidate has at least five years’ PR experience (preferably in gaming), is well-versed in traditional and digital communication techniques, and possesses excellent media relations skills. We are looking for a focused, detail-oriented person who can multitask efficiently, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Reporting to the ANZ PR lead, the ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is flexible and can adapt quickly to changing goals and objectives. Impeccable oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for Blizzard games are essential.
Responsibilities
• Develop communications strategies and work together with the Integrated Marketing team to execute product publicity through pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases
• Maintain strong relationships and involvement in day-to-day contact with press, including consumer, gaming, and trade publications
• Collaborate with Company international PR teams, including sharing of local market needs
• Write and edit press releases, corporate communications, and online materials about Company games and the company to deadline
• Manage and support Blizzard’s participation in regional events, press tours, and developer interviews
• Execute high-impact global public relations programs and support press activities at competitive gaming events
• Create and project manage press kits and other promotional materials as necessary
• Support regional PR efforts in close coordination with other local and international departments within Blizzard
• Provide counsel to leadership regarding incoming media requests and opportunities
• Compile and prepare regular, detailed campaign reporting and executive summaries
• Demo Company games to press
• Travel domestically and internationally, and take on additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or equivalent work experience, preferably within a multinational company
• A minimum of five years’ PR experience, preferably in the gaming, entertainment, or consumer electronics industries
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strategic thinker with a strong media relations background, including an expansive list of industry contacts and proven placement results
• Passionate gamer with strong knowledge of Company universes. Familiarity and passion for esports would be viewed favourably
• Knowledge of local and international games industry and media landscape
• Strong organisational, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, including stakeholder management
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required
• Willingness to travel as required
• Team-focused and detail-oriented approach, while being able to proactively own and complete independent projects
