Reporting into our Executive Director of Corporate and interfacing directly with our clients’ CFO, CEO, CMO and other C-Suite Executives, you will drive Executive positioning, Strategic Communications and help lead our clients through a period of growth, change and innovation.
What You'll Do:
• Develop and manage integrated corporate communications programs that encompass media and influencer relations, and strategic communications
• Serve as a day-to-day strategist for clients, with frequent interaction and counsel to various top-level executives.
• Write and prepare client messaging, executive positioning and speeches, and other communications efforts
• Generate incremental business opportunities with clients by taking a broad view of the entire communications mix, and offering strategic recommendations to drive innovative and award-winning integrated communications programs
• Leadership role in the New York office, and within Company’s New York Corporate practice.
• Provide strategic counsel, guidance and leadership to staff, supervising several staff members, and ensuring the team's success by managing work quality and productivity levels
• Maintain relationships with senior-level client contacts and internal contacts
• Mentor, coach and support team members ensuring constant development of their skills
• Seek and suggest process improvements and support positive change initiatives
• Effectively manage staff utilization to meet profitability targets
What You Have:
• 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a deep background developing and executing corporate reputation programs, including corporate positioning, business media relations and executive communications
• Advanced knowledge of top-tier business and NY media, and well-developed-skills in building and maintaining traditional and digital media relationships
• Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across the client’s business, and deliver connective insights to assist clients in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives
• Demonstrated experience working directly with clients on day-to-day activities, managing teams to execute public relations plans effectively, and drafting and implementing strategic corporate communications programs within budget
• Superior writing skills, with the ability to develop and edit high-quality materials such communications plans, position papers, fact sheets, news and online media materials, bylined articles, trend analysis summaries, executive correspondence, and presentations
• Entrepreneurial attitude with a knack for building trusted relationships with clients and prospects that lead to additional, incremental new business opportunities
