Overview:
The Project Management Office (PMO) at Company Publishers is actively seeking a quick-learning Project Coordinator to carry out important project tasks and work with team members across the organization to ensure that every aspect of a project is being addressed and managed efficiently. The PMO falls within the IT Division and this position reports directly to the Associate Director, PMO.
Responsibilities:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Managing small to large projects.
• Leading all aspects of a project – from initiation to close.
• Collaborating with team members of multiple skill sets and areas of focus to ensure all pieces of the project are aligned and in order.
• Working with the teams to establish project objectives, scopes, immediate priorities, timelines, etc.
• Communicating with the teams, various stakeholders and project sponsors on work progress, risks (as well as avoiding/mitigating/transferring of those risks), and solutions.
• Ensuring that meetings are scheduled, timely, and goal-oriented.
• Preparing project status reports.
• Setting up processes to support project teams using project management best practices.
Qualifications:
• 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Manager, or related work experience managing medium-to-large size projects required
• Knowledge and/or background of the Publishing Industry, a plus
• Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and/or Kanban, alongside other appropriate best practice project management methodologies
• Experience using web-based project management tools (i.e. Jira) and web-based document sharing sites (such as Atlassian Confluence and SharePoint), preferred
• Knowledge of Project Management Software (such as MS Project), a plus
• Working knowledge of MS Product Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, as well as in group settings
• Ability to quickly learn business processes (publishing, marketing, media production, financial ops, etc.)
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, and very high-energy, with a willingness to accept varied assignments
• Comfortable presenting to teams, project stakeholders and sponsors to articulately deliver complex ideas
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
