Position Description

Company is a branch of Company with a cluster of seven radio stations in Austin, TX including: KLBJ-AM (590), KLBJ-FM (93.7), KGSR (93.3), KROX (101.5), KPBA (103.5), KLZT (107.1), and Latino 102.7.
Company in Austin, TX is seeking a full time Program Director to plan and oversee all on-air programming and production for Latino 102.7, our Spanish and English contemporary hit radio station. This position requires Spanish and English fluency and experience supervising on-air talent.
Duties Include but are not limited to
• Plans and oversees all on-air programming and production.
• Evaluates programming available from distributors, syndicators, and independent producers to recommend acquisitions for broadcast.
• Meets with programming and sales staff to brainstorm, plan and execute marketing, promotions and image campaigns.
• Prepares and performs on-air shift, remotes and appearances as required.
• Develops and coaches on-air staff by performing air checks.
• Auditions and hires talent.
• Monitors and evaluates music selected on station.
• Schedules staff for on-air shifts, remotes, and appearances.
• Prepares budget for programming department.
• Directly supervise employees in the Programming department.
• Ability to perform a regular, quality on-air shift.
• Other duties assigned as necessary.
Position Requirements
• Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years of programming experience and at least 3 years of experience managing high-level air talent.
• Spanish and English fluency required.
• Ability to operate a computer, control and mixer boards, CD player, reel to reel, remote and satellite equipment and general office equipment.
• Must be a creative thinker and possess high levels of people skills.
• Must be able to work long hours including some weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and state mandated auto insurance.
