The Team
At Harry’s, the Research & Development brings new products to life. We are responsible for designing, developing, and ultimately manufacturing the products that you see on Company website today. It is incredibly complex to create a high quality razor, and to do so in a way that keeps costs low for customers. That's why we are building a high quality team here in New York and at the Company factory in Germany.
The Role
As a Product Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing market driven products in a fast paced collaborative environment. In this role you will bring extensive knowledge to the team in common manufacturing processes including die casting, injection molding, wielding and assembly. You will work with the team to drive the next iteration of products at Company.
What You Will Do:
• Become fluent in razor design, specifically in cartridge and handle design, and understand complexities of blade production.
• Design products such as razors that meets functional performance goals, enables original ID vision and aesthetics, and can be manufactured at high volume.
• Build a strong engineering function that can scale. Establish standards, process and systems while remaining flexible.
• Create tests that validate design intent, and work in a resource constrained team to quickly assess designs.
• Own work streams and deliver results on time.
• Work with global supply partners managing complex projects, in addition to ME work.
• Build relationships with internal and external teams quickly. Specifically, with ID, Product Management, Quality, Sourcing, and Engineering, and with suppliers.
This Might Describe You:
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters preferred
• 6+ years of related design and development experience working for companies with high volume consumer product or medical equipment manufacturing
• Experience creating Company website'v made products for market, are an expert in Design for Manufacture (DFM) and have extensive experience with patents
• Kick-ass problem Company website design around existing patents and optimize design to allow for ease of manufacturing.
• Ultra strong Company website can work in a global team and can explain complex concepts in a straightforward and easy to understand way.
• Company website jump into a new area that you have not seen quickly – you see things as “challenges” instead of “problems”.
• Committed to making the Company website are only happy when products are the best they can be, and you challenge the people around to have the same level of commitment.
