Position Summary:
The Producer, Talk Programming serves as board operator for multiple hours of The Today Show. This live broadcast requires incredible attention to detail and quick decisions during commercial breaks. The position is also responsible for preparation and production of content for The Today Show's scheduled breakaways for local stations. Work with host/producer to gather and clip audio, edit and produce show elements, and do light research for news stories. Occasionally needed to provide an on-air voice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate broadcast console for live Today Show program--including connecting to host, recording phone interviews, monitoring audio levels and running stop-sets.
• Record program and build/schedule daily replays.
• Assist host/producer in studio while program is on-air.
• Edit sound and create produced/packaged elements for multiple "mini newscasts."
• Operate board for both live and automated shows.
• Implements daily tasks assigned by the program director and host/producer to meet broadcast deadlines.
• Ensure that host/producer are meeting deadlines.
• May have to voice a story from time to time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least one year producing live radio, preferably Talk

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good editorial news judgment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.

• Strong interest in current events and pop culture.
• Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated proficiency in sound production and audio editing, including editing programs (Pro Tools, Adobe Audition).
• Operating studio equipment.
• Mixing sound elements into a professional sounding product.
• Thorough understanding of various social media networking sites.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
