Overview
We are seeking an employee who has the right mix of production experience and truly understands how signage impacts selling. Someone who can use their expert skills in negotiating to work with vendors and to set the right expectations. The ability to write specifications for printing needs by working with vinyl, styrene, static cling, sintra, acrylic, card stock, mdf (wood) and fluted materials is required. You will provide feedback in Acrobat on creative decks and handle high resolution files from the graphic designer in Adobe applications. Experience with data sharing is also necessary. (FTP sites, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.)
This role manages all visual merchandising programs from start to finish by collaborating with several areas of marketing to execute special campaigns, events and programs. Experience partnering with the procurement department to obtain, evaluate, and negotiate print vendor bids and award jobs based on price, quality, time and service criteria is needed. In this position you will maintain quality control standards, while monitoring the progress of all projects to ensure work is being completed on time and within budget. Overseeing distribution lists to ensure every store receives the correct visual elements based on their store floor plan will be the priority. The Manager will need to be detailed, organized and be able to own multiple, concurrent programs in a casual yet fast pace environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage the organization and execution of new and existing programs.
• Create production spec sheets, review and provide feedback on all prototypes and negotiate costs with print vendors to ensure we are receiving best pricing.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing initiatives aligning with company’s strategies and image.
• Adapt to new and evolving program/project modifications per senior executive directives.
• Provide alternative creative and production scenarios based on budget and communication restrictions.
• Streamline processes and explore new methodologies for efficiencies and cost savings.
• Assist with budgetary planning and control.
• Approve and fulfill visual tool requests for helpline and store openings.
• Cultivate strong relationships with current and potential brand and print vendors.
• Coordinate flag ship and activation installations.
• Organize and maintenance of print production folders, templates and material library.
• Oversee program distribution lists and standard documents.
• Systematically direct and accomplish several programs and projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
• Minimum 4 year college degree in business, marketing or related field preferred
• 2-5 years print production experience preferably in retail
• Visual merchandising skills
• Effective prioritization and management of multiple projects against aggressive timelines
• without compromising accuracy or quality
• Excellent brand and print vendor management background
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly present feedback on project plans, status, issues, risks, and requirements to all levels of management, brand vendors and print vendor partners
• Strong technical knowledge of printing techniques, printing materials, spec writing, procurement, freight logistics and postal regulations
• Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Marketing Finance and negotiation skills
• Ability to build partnerships with diverse teams from product, corporate marketing and procurement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with Intermediate Excel skills
• Advanced knowledge of graphics software (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and experience with data sharing (FTP sites, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.)
