We are seeking a motivated Principal Scientist with a broad base of imaging experience and skills as applied to basic research that uses cell lines, human blood specimens or other relevant tissues.
This is team-oriented, laboratory-centered role in a dynamic core facility that also supports flow cytometry. The applicant will serve as a subject matter expert that works with minimal direction and will integrate both individual benchwork contributions along with team-centered activities. Guiding and training others to design and perform experiments is therefore an important component of this role.
- Demonstrate a versatile imaging ability to support high content and confocal imaging campaigns that range from high throughput screening efforts to more intensive mechanism of action oriented studies.
- Compile data using modern analytical tools that may require coding skills as a component of the analytical output.
- Guide others how to use the facility as well as to hold personal accountability for prioritized projects.
- Evaluate and implement new analytical paths that demonstrate artificial intelligence and machine learning to ensure that raw and analyzed data are secured within the larger Company data infrastructure.
- Work in a biosafety level 2 plus laboratory environment, to maintain laboratory safety for everyone that accesses the laboratory to initiate and complete risk assessments for new activities in the laboratory as appropriate.
- Flex into complementary platforms as appropriate, such as flow cytometry.
- Assess new technologies & make purchase recommendations to management as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree (PhD) and 3 years of life science experience OR
- Master’s degree and 6 years of life science experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of life science experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education in the life sciences; Prior experience working in a biopharmaceutical company.
- A solid understanding of good documentation practices & scientific conduct as defined by standard operating procedures.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation such as the Opera Phenix, Leica SP8, and/or Dragonfly etc., and analytical approaches that leverage Imaris, Cell Painting, Cellpose etc.
- Ability to leverage varied AI/ML analytical platforms as they emerge into our industry & work in a team structure with data scientists in synergy.
- A working knowledge of how to integrate imaging & flow cytometry efforts with adjacent single cell technologies (e.g., RNA seq, CRISPR screens, etc).

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
