Now we are looking for a highly organized and creative minded post-production manager to work on native and branded content across our sites and social channels. Ideally you will have very strong organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with the rest of the team, in New York & Los Angeles. Position reports directly to the post supervisor and creative director/head of post production based in Los Angeles.
Ideally, you possess the following qualities:
• Proactive and able to exercise good judgment and initiative.
• Well-versed in the post production process.
• A feel for the Company brand, and a passion for trends and topics that matter to the Company audience across pop culture, food, fashion, beauty, fitness and issues of interest to young women across politics and current events.
• Has a sharp eye for detail, able to spot problems in the workflow, and report those problems back to the team in LA quickly.
• Grace under great pressure, great people skills, high integrity
• Can work positively and collaboratively with team
• Ability to handle a fast paced environment managing several projects in various points of production (from development through delivery)
• Ability to set clear boundaries
• Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
• Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly
• Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current post process
Responsibilities:
• Work with the post supervisor, producers, and editors to manage post schedules, assets, and deliverables.
• Manage the day-to-day workflow for post-production department in NY. This role includes ingesting and organizing footage, sending footage to the team in Los Angeles, and help do minor troubleshooting.
• Liaise with IT, operation manager, production, post supervisor, and editors to create and manage post schedules, edit bays, assets and deliverables
• Organize notes and revisions with clients
• QC and manage deliverables
• Track physical and digital assets
• Delegate and manage client requests
• Evaluate department needs and/or problems by combining and applying problem solving analysis and post workflow experience, then recommend efficiencies, procedures and directions
• Work with Post Supervisor & Digital Media Manager in Los Angeles to ensure safe delivery of footage.
Preferred qualifications:
• Expert understanding of post-production workflow
• Experience with Server Systems, Basecamp, Company website a huge plus
• 5-6 years of experience in post production
• 1-2 years in a manager or supervisor role
• Knowledge of HD/4K & Social Video formats
• Knowledge of offline and online editing
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and video formats and codecs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Mail
• Working knowledge of HD/4K cameras, HD/4K workflows, Premiere, After Effects, ProTools
• Flexibility of schedule is needed.
• Some weekend work may be necessary.
• Experience in Digital Publishing.
