We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Development Director to join the PopCap team. We are a highly collaborative and adaptive team of hands-on game makers, and we’re pushing the boundaries on every front to bring fun, engaging, and innovative mobile experiences to our players.
Responsibilities
• Drive development and operational excellence in service of delivering against ambitious business objectives on our mobile titles.
• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of Development Directors, each of whom is responsible for a specific aspect of the game’s development.
• Establish processes and tools for planning and tracking project and milestone status across key development metrics (scope, capacity, bug count, performance, etc.).
• Clearly communicate project status to the team, to PopCap studio leaders, and to EA company leaders.
• Develop a strategic plan to staff game development to launch and throughout live service. Maintain the game’s overall budget, ensuring both product quality and financial profitability.
• Identify and resolve risks. Find creative solutions to development challenges of all shapes and sizes throughout initial development and live service.
• Build effective relationships throughout our team, our studio, and key partner organizations across the company.
• Foster a fun, positive, and healthy development team, balancing immediate-term results with a sustainable culture that attracts and retains top talent.
Requirements
• 10+ years of game development experience, with significant experience as a senior game and/or franchise development leader.
• Proven track record of launching top-quality titles on time with strong business success.
• Experience launching at least one mobile/free-to-play title, and running it as live service.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Flexible approach to teamwork and collaboration. Ability to adapt process and style to the unique nature of a game and a team.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent but relevant experience will be considered.
