WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate will bean insightful, results driven software technical sales professional with notable success in:
• Pre-sales and or consulting roles- in an ERP, PLM, SCM environment.
• Conducting customer business process assessments to document business justification, ROI and total cost of ownership.
• Collaborating with Sales Teams – you’re experienced at working with sales to determine customer requirements and providing technical product expertise.
• Demo guru-/ PLM evangelist comfortable presenting to audiences live and via web conferencing technologies.
• Ideally you are a PLM subject matter expert who excels at promoting and demonstrating Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions.
• You have an in-depth understanding of engineering, manufacturing and quality workflows.
• You have significant cloud /SaaS experience.
• You are a great communicator and can translate complex ideas into understandable concepts and are comfortable presenting to a wide audience of decision makers and influencers including executive level presentations.
• You’re an experienced promoter; you have previous involvement in sales events such as Customer Forums, PLM/Industry Forums, trade shows etc.
PLM Technical Specialist
Role/Purpose:
What is PLM software?
Product lifecycle management (PLM) is the process of managing complex product information, engineering and manufacturing workflows, and collaboration.
PLM software connects people, processes, and data across the entire product lifecycle to a central repository of information. So everyone from the conceptual designer to the end-customer is on the same page, sharing the same up-to-date product
In partnership with Company sales teams; applies significant experience, in-depth knowledge, practical skills, innovative thinking and vision pertaining to the specific domain of PLM 360 in promoting and selling the solution and associated services while ensuring that customers accomplish their business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 8 years experience- either in a consulting role or technical sales role in the manufacturing software industry.
• Experience with ERP, PLM, SCM solutions.
• Experience with business development concepts and tools for defining capability gaps, implementation and deployment strategies, business and technical architecture, and value justifications.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel as required- aprox 20%
• 4 Year College Degree- Strong preference for engineering degree.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience with cloud based solutions a definate advantage.
• Basic sotware development skills- Javascript, SQL- ability to write extensions, automations and integrations.
• Experience using mechanical CAD tools (i.e. Inventor, Solidworks, Creo or NX)
• and or electrical CAD tools (i.e. Cadence, Mentor Grphics or Altium)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides technical product support to the sales team in the development of sales presentations, in architecting solutions, demonstrating product features and benefits and closing of sales opportunities.
• Provides competitive analysis of Company products vs. competitive products throughout the sales cycle.
• Develops and conducts professional product presentations and demonstrations to generate sales and meet revenue objectives. Presents products as advantages and benefits for customers.
• Customizes company-standard technical demos to specifically address customer needs.
• Provides technical presentations at trade shows and events.
• Serves as a principal resource of product performance feedback for product teams regarding new product enhancements, prioritizations, etc.
• Supports the success of dealers within assigned territory by delivering technical training and product updates to dealer sales reps and applications engineers.
• Partners with dealer sales team, bringing broad technical expertise to bear to resolve dealer customer issues and increase Company product sales.
• Generates new business by expanding opportunities, developing leads, applying direct sales methods, employing cross selling tactics, using adjacent selling techniques etc.
• Applies and leverages in-depth domain knowledge with value selling and target account selling strategies.
• Actively develops, manages, and nurtures selected customer relationships, conducting ongoing, in-depth analysis of customer long-term technology issues and strategies, and achieving "trusted advisor" status in the application of technology to the customer's ongoing technology solution.
• Leverages Company software, applications and services together with partner offerings and other resources to develop innovative solutions that satisfy technical, fiscal and schedule constraints.
• Provides leadership and guidance to sales teams in the formulation of requirements definitions, scope documents, user needs studies, process assessments and project assessments for sales opportunities.
• Provides technical validation and assesses feasibility, correctness and completeness of proposed solutions; applies best practices in solving business problems; shares knowledge and otherwise contributes to team understanding relative to domain expertise.
• Maintains a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the technologies of her/his domain, and insight into the industry practices, business processes, applications and solutions the domain impacts and is impacted upon by the global technology marketplace.
• Maintains and promotes the value of her/his domain expertise to the sales force, sales support, Company Consulting and the Channel Sales system via a variety of knowledge sharing mechanisms:
• Participating/leading one-on-one and team sessions with peers, colleagues, partners and customers that highlight business objectives, business issues and their resolution.
• Developing/delivering/leading Company product/strategy workshops for internal Company, as well as, partner consumption.
• Participating in regional/national conferences by developing/delivering presentations or workshops consistent with Company messaging.
• Writing white-papers, papers in conference proceedings, newsletter articles, magazine articles, or books.
• Developing/delivering presentations to user groups.
• Participating in professional or domain specific associations.
