To provide an in-depth analytical and strategic support for the creation of robust plans for the business. To be a key point of contact across functions. To develop and implement financial plans, monitoring the performance of sales, stock, and profit from top-line to store level
What You Will Be Doing Day To Day
• Setting annual and weekly financial sales targets by store / season alongside space and stock targets by product type for Own Buy and external Businesses.
• Calculating department space specifications for all stores based on space-to-sales ratios, densities and other market factors. Liaise with Retail Op’s to ensure that planned space is accurate.
• Coordinate the opening stock packages for all new and modernised stores providing space specifications to the Visual team.
• Provide Finance and Retail field teams with forecasts proposals in season for new and mod stores at top-line and by department.
• Ensure critical path is met and aligned with B&M planning.
• Utilising WSSI on the Planning software Maple Lake for stores with the biggest turnovers, providing the business with visibility of stock, sales and profit targets.
• Product Planning:
• Deliver concise assortment plan by department each season for stores and head office teams to follow.
• Issue sales plans plus a tiered and grading structure for range planning/stock allocations.
• Work with B&M teams to issue Range Plans/Tiering in line with buying structure – Long Lead approx. 9 months pre-season, Mid Lead 4 Months, Short Lead – when Sales Plans are signed off.
• Ensure consistency of use of Planning tools across the B&M teams – That all teams use the range plan in order to roll up to a company view.
• Other
• Oversee creation, running and maintenance of reporting to ensure business requirements are met.
• Liaise with systems when issues arise – be point of expertise for B&M and systems
• Play an integral role supporting departments with ad hoc queries, including Buying and Merchandising, Finance, Trading, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations, Marketing, Property and Retail Field teams.
Must Haves
• Must have exceptional analytical, numerical & communication skills
• Advanced MS Office skills including Access; experience with planning software desirable
• Robust insight and understanding of retail stock operations
• Ability to engage with various stakeholders across B&M, retail, finance and marketing departments.
• Adaptability to change management working in a fast pace environment
• Commercial acumen
• Previous experience with store planning desirable
