Department Overview:
Global Security & Investigations (“GSI”) is a specialized team dedicated to the security and safety of our employees, customers, third parties, physical assets and information. Using a risk-based approach, the team is responsible to identify, investigate, mitigate and manage risks by developing key strategies, designing comprehensive security and investigative programs, educating businesses within Company Bank Group on security measures and protocols and working collaboratively with internal and external partners.

Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Support, GSI, the Physical Security Risk Analyst, Planning & Support (P&S) will be responsible for leading, facilitating and/or overseeing the completion of physical security threat and risk assessments, projects or work streams while ensuring deliverables meet standards for quality, timeliness and achieve GSI's standards and objectives. The Physical Security Risk Analyst position performs advanced research and analysis and is responsible for providing in-depth written reports/presentations to GSI management to support the objectives of Company security programs and to drive decision making. This role requires a significant amount of independent work to analyse interpret information and take ownership of tasks. It requires interaction and working directly with management and executive-level (AVP, VP) individuals both within GSI and with other Company stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
• Ability to coordinate and develop plans and meetings with designated business lines and stakeholders to complete security threat and risk assessments at Company retail and corporate locations.
• Conduct and review security threat and risk assessments and physical security surveys through GSI or contracted personnel, for work facilities owned or occupied by Company, and third-party vendors contracted by Company.
• Development of effective and efficient risk mitigation solutions by researching/analyzing issues, defining opportunities for potential GSI process improvements and making recommendations.
• Strong written communication skills, to be able to effectively communicate the process, findings, and proposed recommendations for a security threat risk assessment in a formal written report.
• Strong verbal communication skills to allow for effectively communicating and working with Company stakeholders, as well as the ability to confidently brief Executives.
• Ability to manage the remediation of any recommendations/action items identified in the completion of the security threat risk assessment.
• Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis, including business cases and Post Incident Reviews required to support internal and external business partners.
• Strong physical security background and working knowledge of access control systems, CCTV and intrusion/detection systems used in the financial sector (specifically retail and corporate banking locations).
• Mentoring and coaching other individuals to impart knowledge transfer, quality control, skills development and career growth.
Additional Information:
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Demonstrated knowledge of physical security principles, practices and protection strategies, and crime prevention strategies, including but not limited to intrusion detection, surveillance and CPTED.
• Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise summaries to Senior Leadership. Personal interaction with Executive-level is expected.
• Advanced analytical skills and an excellent knowledge of security and threat risk assessments in order to provide timely expertise, advice and guidance to business partners.
• Possess sufficient education and experience to generate reports, perform process reviews and interpret department policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced and demanding environment that requires meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, self-confident and able to prioritize deliverables in a "high change" environment.
• Ability to support a 24/7 operational environment, which may occasionally require work outside of regular business hours.
• Minimum of 3-5 years banking or retail security experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of security threat and risk assessment experience with a corporate or government security department within an organisation of comparable size and complexity to Company
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Applicants must be able to receive federal and provincial government screening clearances.
• Applicants must be able to travel domestically or internationally, approximately 15% of the time.
Specific Education Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a security/law related or risk management discipline.
• Professional designation in security management (e.g. ASIS Certified Protection Professional [CPP], CSIS Accredited Security Professional [ASP] or Certified Security Professional [CSP], ASIS Physical Security Professional [PSP]) preferred.
