Photo Editor - Creative Services Production
Overall Summary:
The Photo Editor reviews, edits, captions and archives a large volume of entertainment photography from hit Company Television produced shows such as Better Call Saul, The Goldbergs, Outlander and Preacher. Under the guidance of the SPT Photo Director, the Photo Editor will liaise with photographers and network partners on delivery and distribution of photo assets. The Company Photo Department is a fast-paced environment, requiring topnotch organizational and communication skills as well as meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Sony Creative Services, Marketing and Publicity teams to manage and distribute assets on a timely basis.
• Log, ingest, caption, edit, QC & archive high volume of episodic and gallery photography in deadline driven environment.
• Become an expert on assigned shows: read scripts & follow storylines in order to select the best visual assets to represent the show.
• Research and fulfill asset requests from Publicity, Marketing and Sony International territories.
• Maintain and update Department schedule to track production dates, season premieres and airdates.
• Facilitate retouching on unit and gallery images.
• Maintain Sony’s photography digital asset management site.
• Assist managing event photography at Sony functions on an as-needed basis.
• Work with talent representatives on contractual talent photo approvals.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 3 years industry experience in a network, studio or creative agency setting.
• Thorough understanding of digital photography and associated file formats.
• Knowledge of stock photography usage and acquisition.
• Knowledge of union photographers and associated rules preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and think strategically.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external teams.
• Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes.
• Basic retouching skills preferred.
• Understanding of the design production process and terminology.
Technical Skills:
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Mac platform
• Photo editing software such as Photo Mechanic
• Digital photography and file formats
• Experience with Digital Fusion a plus.
