Performance Director, Company EMEA
This new role has been created on the back of a significant new client for the UK based EMEA hub of Company. We are looking for a Performance Director to run the overall account performance for UPS. This role is about bringing to market world class performance to the team for UPS, building deep relationships with clients, agency partners and international colleagues alike.
UPS – we have recently been appointed to work across EMEA with the world’s largest logistics and Delivery Company. This is an integrated remit working closely with other IPG agency companies The Martin Agency and Huge (both based out of the US).
UPS are developing and implementing a highly sophisticated tech stack that requires someone with advanced technical knowledge as well as media planning and optimization experience ideally in all on and offline media (although we are open to digital experience only with a view to broadening the candidate’s skillset to include all channels over time)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance: be the overall controller of budget and performance across all channels across 7 markets.
Relationships: be the day to day lead with clients and agency partners. Having clients and agency partners based overseas in the US and across Europe, the candidate needs to have exceptional communication and relationship building capabilities, with strong telephone and written skills.
Markets: working with the Performance Manager to lead coordination and management of local market responses on an ongoing basis. Key markets include UK, DE, FR, ES, IT, NL, PL, but may also expand to any global markets as our scope increases.
Project manage: overall ownership of master timeline and delivery between internal parts of the business (Reprise, Mediabrands Insights, Analytics, Cadreon etc). Be the lead point of contact and communication with our agency partners on this integrated piece of business.
Support: support account leadership in developing and managing overall approach to client brief, ongoing campaign management and supporting clients in day to day requests, account admin etc.
Manage: effectively manage the rest of the UPS team as direct reports, as well as indirectly managing and influencing output from local market teams across the region.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
• Performance media leadership
• Experienced practitioner in performance marketing techniques across all channels (digital is a must)
• Work closely with analysts and specific media functions to make optimization decisions on an ongoing basis
• Local market campaign management:
• Lead campaign briefing – providing direction on target, channel, budget, timeline
• Support, advise and assess local market teams to ensure their media plans comply with the central brief and strategy. Be able to confidently challenge and question assumptions and recommendations that have been made to ensure the best possible delivery for the client
• Ensure standard processes and best practices are rolled out and followed across markets
• Lead central campaign planning for global & pan-euro Companies across digital and offline
• Evaluate media proposals and deliver programs to ensure highest value and efficiencies are delivered to the client
• Assist/manage buying and financial implementation process
• Create and maintain relationships with key media partners
• Work closely with clients on thought leadership content development Companies
• Be digitally driven—oversee digital implementation and continue to seek innovation across all aspects
• Oversee and understand ad serving/trafficking process/technical implementation (NB the expectation is not to undertake this work personally)
• Manage client expectations and have the ability to escalate issues quickly to the Account Lead if necessary
• Be a proactive contributor at internal & client meetings
• Fully understand the clients business and the market they occupy so that you can confidently speak from a position of authority and help identify the issues they face
• Gain the respect and trust of all relevant client personnel by demonstrating knowledge, commitment and enthusiasm for their business
• Constantly use your knowledge of the clients business to identify areas where Mediabrands can help solve their marketing challenges
