With nearly 20,000 organizational customers and millions of student users, Blackboard is the world's leading education technology company. Company. is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who is highly proficient in administering payroll for over 2,000 employees worldwide.
Responsibilities include but are not to be limited to:
• Support the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and monthly payroll for over 2,000 employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved changes, updates and special payroll deductions.
• Setup and audit of employee data; payroll maintenance; and monitoring of data interface with HRIS System.
• Ensure that employee changes are made on a timely basis; review changes for compliance with corporate policies and federal, state and local tax regulations.
• Research and resolve payroll problems and processing errors.
• Partner with HR personnel to ensure timely resolution of employee payroll issues/inquiries.
• Provide support to employees by responding to payroll related questions on an as needed basis.
• Prepare period end payroll data and processing.
• Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, accounting and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports)
Professional Qualifications
• 1-2 years of prior relevant experience.
• CPP or FPC Certification preferred.
• Microsoft Excel required and proficiency with other MS Office applications including Word, Power Point and Access desired.
• Must be familiar with multi-state payroll tax withholding.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and process high volume of information with efficiency and accuracy in a highly dynamic environment
• Must be very detailed oriented, have strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Must be able to work on multiple projects with varying time lines and priorities
• Ability to research payroll issues concerning earnings, deductions, taxes, vacation, expense reimbursement etc. and effectively communicate the results of that research with employees.
• Able to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information
• Familiarity with Ultipro, EZLabor Manager and Oracle Fusion a plus
