Salary: (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required
We are looking for a strong people manager in the role of Operations Manager. In this role you will be part of the operations and engineering team, ensuring strong communication. In this role you will be responsible for the administration of timesheets and payroll. You will participate in creating policies (including Health and Safety and operations procedures) and be responsible for implementing. This role with work closely with the field engineers and communicating information. In conjunction with the engineering scheduler you will develop training plans for growth and development and allow for long term planning of event coverage and vacations.
Responsibilities:
• Day to day administration of staff and freelance timesheets and expenses.
• Ensure consistent application of company guidelines.
• Manage of all vacation/lieu time in accordance with company policy
• Work closely with all key parties in planning engineering schedules to ensure appropriate event coverage.
• Long term mapping of training objectives and vacations.
• Communicating plans to ensure support across the organization.
• Anticipating, reacting to, and resolving operational issues with urgency and passion; working with staff to ensure they have appropriate information and support.
• Adjusting assignments based on operational demands and changes.
• Working as part of the operations team to oversee health and safety practices and implement necessary policies as needed.
• Working cohesively Director of Operations to develop the budget to support the strategic business goals and to help manage operations to meet the organizational goals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years managing people and building a strong, high performing team.
• Two (2) years’ experience scheduling resources with an emphasis on long term mapping and communication.
• Administration experience of implementing policies, processing pay/expenses while meeting all deadlines.
• Experience in a fast paced, changing environment managing multiple priorities at one time.
• Knowledge of live television production environment an asset
