OVERVIEW:
The Operations Engineer represents a technical and experienced position in the Company IT organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Full application support in the Information Technology department. This entails maintaining and troubleshooting multiple applications running on both Windows and Red hat Operating Systems, on both physical and virtual servers.
• Facilitate the migration of both hosted, and on premise applications from development to production. Once in production support, you will have responsibility for multiple applications, including troubleshooting, monitoring, installing patches, scripting, level II support and report generation.
• Strong use of technical knowledge.
• Ability to work with others to solve technical issues in a timely fashion.
• Basic knowledge of specialized technologies such as; Active Directory, Citrix, file/print, Application Architecture, System/Network Security, Web Servers, Database, UNIX/Windows file permissioning and Application Load Balancing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years previous system administration experience on multiple operating systems (Windows, Red Hat, VMware).
• 3+ years experience administrating Java applications with JBoss, Tomcat, JMS, Active Directory, Apache, Citrix, PHP, HTML, .NET, IIS, SCCM, Casper, MDT.
• Database familiarity including Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL.
• Knowledge of server (Cisco, HP) and storage (NAS, SAN) systems.
• Able to perform networking troubleshooting and assessments.
• Familiar with network and host level security.
• Experience in implementing, maintaining and supporting applications in development, QA, staging and production environments.
• Must be familiar with system integration and process automation.
• Must possess excellent analytical skills and be proactive.
• Assist with performing regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
• Solid trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
• Able to obtain, understand and interpret performance data.
• Strong programming/debugging skills (Shell, Perl, SQL, VBA, Powershell, RegEx).
• Create and maintain logs, records, diagrams and reports of any and all systems.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related equivalent education required.
• Certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware or related technology certifications are preferred.
