Scope and Responsibilities:
Joining our Company Factory Store team as our Assistant Buyer, you will report to the Category Footwear Buyer and work alongside the buying coordinator as part of our category offense. Displaying a seamless mindset in everything you do while you contribute to deliver the best expression of your respective category in the extended holistic marketplace. You will take ownership of the buy for a specified section of your category. You will help develop the category buying strategy and vision for DTC; execute seasonal category product and promotional strategies in order to achieve ideal product assortment and create premium quality consumer-centric offerings. You will develop monthly forecasts of sales and inventory for all styles and develop strategies to meet category financial goals; make necessary forecasts for open to buy process. Also proactively communicate category buying strategies, vision and business results to cross functional and category business partners. You will communicate regularly with Planning and Allocation to share business updates and partner on integration of planning, allocation and buying processes. You will also analyze performance and results of past buying strategies and make tactical adjustments to leverage opportunities for increased profitability and provide insights and feedback to the Buyer to help influence the development of product and the build process; collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure DTC has the right types and quantity of product available to meet their needs. You will mentor entry level Buying Coordinators to help them develop the competencies necessary to develop and execute buying strategies. Last you will perform all merchandise related data entry such as price changes, markdowns, order entry, product set-up, etc.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 3 years' directly relevant work experience in a Monobrand or Multibrand Retail GMM Environment
• Previous AB experience is ideal
• Strong MS Excel and Outlook skills
• Strong proficiency in SAP
• Proficiency in Island Pacific is preferred
• Outlet experience is a plus
• People management experience
• Ability to work under extremely tight timelines with data entry accuracy
• Strong communication skills and ability to clarify or resolve discrepancies
• Strong problem solving and influencing skills
