DESCRIPTION:
WCBS-AM, New York’s premier all-news station, is looking for a part-time news anchor. If you understand that compelling writing, great storytelling, and creative use of sound make for a great news product on-air and on multiple social media platforms then we want to hear from you. New York is one of the most diverse cities in America. Our stories reflect its people, issues, politics, and quality of life. WCBS Anchors are the voices presenting those stories to 1.5 million listeners each week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You must have the ability to anchor from the studio operating the board / engineering your own newscast. We need highly motivated candidates willing to learn how to balance the many tasks of an anchor at one of the country’s premier radio stations.
The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where your work is subject to intense public scrutiny. This is an extremely high energy position that will require the ability to multi task as WCBS anchors handle their own engineering and management of commercial logs.
Required:
WCBS Anchors write their own copy on strict deadlines; a working knowledge of legal and FCC rules are required.
Ability to work overnights and weekends.
Digital editing experience.
An understanding of Social Media skills and utilization.
Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in a major market.
