Job Title
National Travel Director - Company Travel Marketing
1) Manage and grow a substantial account list and revenue generation across Company properties (all national print, digital) for DMO/Public Sector Tourism accounts
2) Manage an internal team of travel advertising sellers, and external national travel ad sales rep firms
3) (Working with MDP Research ) Finding the story and presenting Company Travel Marketing research across the nation at Tourism Conferences
4) Manage Company Travel Marketing budget for sponsorships and marketing opportunities
5) Assess the travel category and Company capabilities (beyond MTM typical practice) to recommend solutions and programs to create new business partnerships
6) Strategic planning to help secure new business / increase revenue / prevent attrition across Company Travel Marketing portfolio, especially focused on Midwest Living.
7) Assist the Publisher in development and achievement of goals for the internal and external travel teams set forth in the strategic plan in the area of travel.
8) Work directly with Midwest Living publisher to forecast business on an issue by issue, quarter by quarter, and annual basis – and find ways to balance attrition and find new business opportunities.
9) Manage Company Travel Marketing rep firm contracts.
10) Spearhead Official Visitor Guide RFPs and create new opportunities to secure new travel guide business for the Company Travel Marketing Content Studio portfolio

Manage, supervise, motivate, and direct sales efforts of Midwest Living/MTM internal and external travel representatives. Assist Publisher in estimating Midwest Living and Company Travel Marketing revenue on issue by issue basis. Work with publisher and marketing in planning, development and execution of strategic initiatives to assist sellers in increasing travel advertising revenue.

Manage and grow individual account list. Manage the sales/advertising parts of OVG RFPs.

Deliver Company Travel Marketing research to current/potential clients, attend tourism conferences and client meetings with sales staff. Manage ad sales within Best of the Midwest, OVGs, and inserted custom publications.

College degree
Experience:
5 years tourism industry experience, 10 years sales / account management experience, 3 years staff management
