Position Description
The mission of Enterprise Compliance and Regulatory Affairs is to drive compliance with laws, regulations and company policies set forth by federal regulators and stakeholders.
The Company Bank Sr. Mortgage Compliance Director will provide day to day compliance support for the Bank's mortgage business through oversight, advice and counsel involving the Mortgage Business executive and his/her team in the management and mitigation of compliance risk. The Sr. Compliance Director will work with the business to assure appropriate compliance policies, programs, training, standards, processes and controls.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide strategic compliance direction and strong leadership to the Mortgage Compliance team
• Interface with all levels of management to identify, assess, mitigate, and report on compliance risk
• Support strategic initiatives
• Drive a culture of compliance
• Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Education level: Bachelors' degree in business or related major
• Certifications or special training needed: CRCM or similar designation preferred
• Total years and type of prior related experience: 15 + years related Compliance experience, with recent emphasis on Mortgage related activity
• Well-developed compliance and problem solving skills and experience
• Previous experience working with regulatory agencies
• Understanding of federal consumer banking laws and regulations, ability to assess impact of proposed and current regulations and provide an actionable implementation strategy relative to the Bank's products and services
• Strong presentation skills and ability to deliver engaging presentations to senior level leadership and regulators, that are tailored to the needs of the audience
• Independent decision making and ability to clearly articulate decisions to a broad audience
• Strong management skills and ability to empower and grow employees
