DESCRIPTION:
KTVT-TV, the Company owned and operated station in Dallas-Fort Worth is seeking a Meteorologist. The ideal candidate will combine strong on-air skills with a great understanding of, and a passion for, meteorology. Must have severe weather experience. In addition to anchoring weathercasts, the meteorologist will record multiple webcasts in all shifts and work heavily on social media. Other duties include: leading a team of meteorologists and executing station strategy; writing / preparing forecasts; producing graphics to tell the weather story; updating our web site. The candidate will also be required to periodically write and report weather related stories for newscasts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidate should have at least 5 years on-air weathercasting experience within a TV Station and a degree in meteorology or related science. A CBM is preferred. Ideal candidate will also have experience with WSI weather systems , Baron's FastTrac system, Word, Excel, Power Point and some HTML code. Strong social media and web journalism are important.
