Company Merchandise Finance Intern
Company Merchandise is a division of LA based Anschutz Entertainment Group. We provide merchandising support and assistance for teams and events within the buildings we own or manage. Our goal as a department is to be the one source for creative development, sourcing, production, distribution and retail of all merchandise opportunities.
Our internship program is designed to promote the professional growth of student interns with an interest in a career of Sports/ Entertainment Merchandise, Finance, Human Resources, Buying, and Marketing. The main goal of our internship program is to assist you in a hands-on environment within the fast paced sports and entertainment world.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Company Merchandise (Los Angeles, CA) is seeking a college intern for the Merchandise Finance Department. This is a part-time, paid internship, where the intern will learn the basic elements of Finance Merchandising. We are seeking someone who wants exposure to the sports merchandising and entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will be someone who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Business Management.
The intern will have the following responsibilities:
• Semester Project: this project will vary based on what is decided by the manager
• Assist the Merchandise Finance Director and finance team with improvements to our inventory reporting procedures while learning the process of working with inventory
• Learn and assist the finance team with credit card reconciliation and set-up
• Conduct research and analysis on daily and monthly sales transactions for specific departments , teams, and events within Company.
• Review errors and omissions and make recommendations as needed
The minimum qualifications for this internship include:
• Enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited college or university
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Receive academic credit for the duration of the internship
• Ability to build strong relationships with our team and customers
• Strong computer skills, as well as be internet savvy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detailed oriented
• Driven, self-starter and results oriented
