Position Summary
Performs any of the required functions in the Distribution Area to ensure that all daily requirements are met. These areas include but are not limited to: Shipping, Sortation, Receiving, Replenishment, and Warehouse.
Principle Accountabilities
Shipping / Sortation
◦ Provide Export Department with correct Bill of Lading and manifest information
◦ Allocate order in preparation for shipment to final destination (by partner, PO#, Destination)
◦ Liaise with carriers in order to schedule shipments (International & Domestic)
◦ Verify actual carton counts against carton count stated on BOL
◦ Build pallets based on WMS and Customer supplier criteria
◦ Enclose packing slip in each order
◦ Shrinkwrap each pallet
◦ Verify all documentation tendered to driver (commercial invoice, BOL, Dangerous Goods forms)
◦ Required to load pallets onto trucks either via hand jack or motorized truck in accordance with GMP and cube utilization
◦ Ensure appropriate Hazardous Goods Labels for transport are applied
• Troubleshoot problems to ensure timely turnover in shipping/sortation area
Receiving
◦ Perform physical inspection of goods to ensure there are no damages
◦ Verify that actual counts /label information is in accordance with packing slip, Purchase Order or expected receipt amount
◦ Be able to unload trucks with either a hand jack or motorized truck in accordance with GMP
◦ Staging of inbound pallets into receiving lanes
◦ Responsible for entering pallet information into the system in order to generate pallet identification
Replenishment / Putaway
◦ Individuals must be knowledgeable of and able to perform cycle counts using WMS
◦ Be knowledgeable in the physical layout of the facility and its corresponding naming conventions
◦ Be able to operate motorized trucks in accordance with GMP
Systems
◦ WMS, NTSI, AMAPS, Small shipment systems, Corporate Out of Stock system
Health and Safety
◦ Proactively identify and resolve safety concerns
◦ Observe and conform to all corporate EH&S guidelines and procedures
◦ Adhere to established Lockout/Tag out Programs
◦ Actively participate and evaluate PSR’s
◦ Participate in the establishment of annual EH&S objectives
Housekeeping
◦ Maintain clean work environment on the production floor and within the maintenance shop.
◦ Conform to all ergonomic assessment requirements
◦ Actively participate and support the Canadian Operations 5S Program
Qualifications
Education: Secondary School Diploma required or equivalent
Experience:Minimum 2 years of related work experience, general warehouse experience in a high volume environment.
Competencies:
• Mechanical ability
• Qualified to operate heavy machinery
• Computer literate on basic Windows Office Application
• In depth knowledge of Distribution Applications
• Flexibility to work Day and Afternoon shift
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
