Not only is Company the leader in all-things GPS, but, if selected as a Marketing Product Specialist, you’ll manage all aspects of packaging development activities and facilitate the collaboration between the project team and other departments to ensure a successful packaging creation, development, and launch.
We are looking for a full time Marketing Product Specialist for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. You will manage various new product launch activities, including website setup, product imagery, Oracle pricing and the generation of dealer announcements.
In this role, you’ll also be responsible for these essential functions:
• Develop new product information, product specifications, set-up and distribute to applicable marketing and sales staff company wide
• Analyze the status and recommend the course of action for various marketing activities required for a successful product launch
• Manage the creation and development of the physical packaging design by collaborating with other Company departments and analyzing budgetary, contractual, legal, customer and Company requirements
• Setup and maintain Company products and accessories in the web product catalog
• Develop dealer and distributor Marketing announcements, including new product, price reductions, MRP updates, rebates and end-of-life announcements
• Create and manage detailed packaging development schedules, including requirements for product photography, renders and screen shots
• Collaborate with Production Artists to manage packaging job priorities
• Advise on packaging development status during Engineering team meetings
• Manage and facilitate packaging development design review meetings, including reviews for photography, renders and screen shots
• Analyze the development status for all packaging items to ensure readiness for pilot run and mass production
• Collaborate with the development team to develop and create an appropriate packaging solution
• Create and manage bill of materials; generate Engineering Change Orders
• Execute and implement Company procedures for packaging development and release
• Collaborate with business segment leaders, Company Europe/Taiwan/Salem and departments within Company including Marketing Communications, IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, etc in connection with managing packaging development activities
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or relevant experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description is required.
Qualified candidates for this role will possess the following education, experience and skills:
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
• Must have strong project management skills
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
• Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency
• Excellent time management skills and ability to generate and support pragmatic solutions that meet Company’s market launch requirements, while maintaining high quality standards
• Must demonstrate a proven track record in providing excellent customer service skills
• Ability to handle confidential company matters
• Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Candidates with a strong interest, appreciation and knowledge using Company products in markets such as outdoor, fitness, boating and automotive is preferred. Extensive Company product knowledge and familiarity with HTML web interface is a plus!
