Job Summary:
The Role:
House of Blues Entertainment’s Clubs & Theatres, a division of Company, is in search of a highly motivated, organized and most importantly, enthusiastic individual who is interested in working within the heart of the live entertainment industry. As a Company Marketing and Promotions Manager, you can expect to develop your marketing and project management skills as well as gain valuable, real-world experience in the live entertainment industry. This position will report to the General Manager and support with marketing and administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
• Be intimately familiar with the Salt Lake City area and other outlying markets
• Have a strong familiarity with live music marketing and event planning, with multi-venue oversight experience a plus
• Prepare and execute unique, comprehensive marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns for Live Nation concerts within the designated territory
• Implement highly strategic digital marketing & social media paid and organic campaigns including the distribution of targeted e-cards, bi-weekly newsletters to the Live Nation database & social media engagement/content management
• Create brand marketing plans and identify strategic marketing partners and opportunities that benefit the overall venue
• Establish deep relationships and community building efforts with key media, local influencers and critical community organizations
• Work with all team members to coordinate effective promotions and take advantage of related promotional inventory that drive incremental ticket sales and/or on-premise revenue
• Oversee, manage and buy paid media including, but not limited to, digital, social, radio, TV, print and outdoor
• Develop, monitor and adjust annual advertising budgets as needed to maximize overall ticket sales opportunity and/or to minimize ineffective campaigns
• Establish and coordinate street team and grassroots marketing efforts with local market contacts
• Develop key PR contacts across print and digital and craft, distribute and track press announcements to media outlets that drive earned media pre-show and benefit the overall venue
• Responsible for creating, developing, implement and tracking localized ticketing promotions and programs that drive sales and/or extend marketing budgets per show
• Assist alliance teams in the development and fulfillment of sponsorship programs
• Coordinate pre-show/day of show press with independent publicists and managers
• Create, develop, and implement additional programming content for non-show nights including but not limited to local showcases, club nights, neighborhood events and tent pole programming with direct responsibility to the events success whether a stand-alone event or a series of events that builds long term opportunities
• Plan and execute pre and post-show events and promotions in and around the venue that increase food and beverage opportunities
• Capture real-time, night of show coverage for venue marketing and social channels as part of an overall venue content strategy aligned to an existing or creating a voice for the venue
• Other duties as assigned by marketing team
Requirements:
• A strong love of music and the ability to attend events on nights and weekends
• A combination of 5+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, media, live event management, or the music business is required
• Exceptional communicator with ability to develop strong working relationships with the talent promoter team and operations team, as well as oversee, manage and mentor support marketing teams both internal and external
• Experience with social media is highly preferred
• A creative flare and ability to brainstorm with the marketing team about new ideas, promotions, and how to sell tickets
• Promotional experience
• Experience in media buying, print placement, digital, and Excel
• Very strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• The discipline to work independently, but the willingness to collaborate with the marketing team on other promotions, ideas, and projects
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
• Working environment is fast-paced and often loud and stressful
• Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing, bending, reaching, sitting, working on your feet, and telephonic communication
• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
