Overview and Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager’s primary function is to develop, recommend and implement the overall objectives and strategies of the group. Responsible for creating innovative integrated marketing initiatives to drive distributor and Company revenues, secure distribution, reinforce the value of the Company Media Network Brands and increase ratings.
Basic Qualifications
• Assist the VP/Senior Director in the development of the marketing plan and with proposals to meet channel and partner goals.
• Develop and execute account-specific marketing promotions with a variety of types of distributors (MVPD, Virtual MVPD, OTT/SVOD) that support their goals and deliver significant value for Company Media Networks.
• Work across Sales, Partner Marketing and the entire Company Media Networks (VMN) brand portfolio to identify appropriate, mutually beneficial partnerships for VMN and distribution partners.
• Create and manage TV Everywhere consumer marketing campaigns that drive authentication, usage and engagement with Company channel apps and distributor platforms. Act as brand liaison and expert for the VH1 and Logo channels to the sales team and affiliates.
• Maintain ongoing dialogue with channel contacts (marketing, programming, creative, research, legal, press etc.) to create comprehensive, fully integrated opportunities that maximize Content Distribution and channel priorities.
• Conceptualize, develop and create sales presentations, marketing proposals and promotional materials.
• Oversee and coordinate generating awareness for distributor promotions/events including VOD, online, social media and grassroots.
• Manage channel/brand message, image and presence in affiliate campaigns and materials.
• Represent Content Distribution POV and contribution in channel meetings.
• Recommend initiatives based on understanding and identifying industry trends that will affect network distribution and marketing plans in the short and long-term.
• Oversee and supervise the marketing Coordinator on day to day projects. Mentor and take a personal stake in their professional development.
• Manage budgets associated with projects.
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor degree with 3-6 years marketing experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Candidate should be extremely detail-oriented, proactive and reliable with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Must have an understanding of the television and digital landscape
• Ability to learn quickly. Must be flexible and able to adapt to the changing industry and organizational landscape.
• Strategic and innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
• Ability to interface across multiple levels (up to VP, SVP) and across groups.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
• Capable of managing direct reports and working collaboratively within the department.
• Experience in brand management and/or multiplatform marketing
• MBA a plus
