Responsibilities
Company International is offering an exciting 12-month Marketing & PR internship position, working with the Syfy, Studio Company, and Movies24/ Christmas 24 TV channels. As a full member of the team you will help to implement digital centric marketing & PR campaigns for the channel brands, including social media, digital media and content marketing.
As an Intern, you will be supporting a fast-paced team to deliver innovative Marketing, PR & strategies whilst developing your own skills. You will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to your department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in Marketing or PR.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Assisting with planning and implementing campaign activities and events
• Coordinating campaign elements between multiple departments and regional marketing teams as appropriate in a timely manner
• Helping to prepare presentations for events and pitches
• Assisting in implementation of social messaging and content for social pages (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and internal pages)
• Sourcing, resizing and cataloguing images and other assets for relevant internal/external communications; sharing key materials internally or with local teams and clients as necessary
• Liaising with internal/external stakeholders at various levels on a regular basis
• Contributing to ad-hoc projects, which may include conducting research and writing/proofreading copy
• Collating various reports and updates for distribution as appropriate
• Maintaining calendar of events, adjusting according to changes in release dates or schedules
• Providing admin support to the team and additional support to the necessary Directors/VPs as required
What we’re looking for
You will ideally be currently studying a degree-level or equivalent course, specialising in English, Marketing, Communications, Media or Business-related subjects, or be a recent graduate.
Essential
• A passion for Broadcasting and Media (ideally you’ll love Sci Fi, Movies and Christmas!) with a desire to develop a career in Marketing or PR.
• Proactive and enthusiastic, with ability to work autonomously to deadlines, take initiative and keep calm under pressure
• Analytical with outstanding attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively prioritise and manage workload
• Self-starter and fast learner, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team
• Strong office administration and IT skills; confident user of Microsoft Office (in particular PowerPoint)
• Basic understanding of Photoshop (essential), Illustrator (preferred), InDesign (preferred)
• Understanding of and active interest in Digital Media, Social Media and online marketing
• Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly and responsibly
• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; confident in communication with senior management
• Strong written and presentation skills (preparing and giving presentations), including proofreading
• High level of creativity, including design skills
• Awareness of events and current affairs in programming
• Willingness to learn and “can-do” attitude
Desirable
• Some knowledge of the international TV industry, including a basic understanding of the market
• Previous work experience in a similar environment
• Understanding of CMS
Requirements
• Must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship
• Fluent English is essential; additional languages may be useful
