Description
Role Purpose / Responsibilities
• Lead the FIG North America business which includes a team of c. 30 bankers in US, Canada and Bermuda covering Banks & Securities Houses and Insurance sub-sectors.
• Grow global revenues derived from Capital Financing [DCM, Credit & Lending, Acquisition Finance, Asset Finance], Global Markets (Credit Sales, Cash Equities, Interest Rate & Equity Derivatives, FX), Transaction Services – Global Cash & Liquidity Management, Securities Services and Global Trade & Receivables Finance, and investment management solutions through Company Asset Management.
• Collaborate on the cross-sell effort with Company Private Bank and Retail Bank and Wealth Mgmt into the FIG client base.
• Grow the business profitably, ie maximizing RoRWA at a portfolio level and client level.
• As a Senior Coverage Banker, and for the assigned client base, develop and expand long-term relationships at the C-suite level.
• Manage the credit risk and financial crime risk of the business.
• Manage the Correspondent Banking business.
Observation of Internal Controls
• Represent the FIG business in any internal or external audits and, as required, with external regulators.
• Maintain Company internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Ensure the team understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant Company internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to business conduct specifically Internal Controls and Compliance policies.
Qualifications
• Track record of managing teams of originators.
• Track record of managing clients.
• New business origination skills and proven ability to win mandates across a full range of products.
• Strong rolodex of senior client contacts in FIG sector
• In-depth knowledge of banks and/or insurance sub-sectors
• Strong understanding of credit risk, and financial crime risk; including risk management and risk mitigation.
• General product expertise in Financing, Global Markets and Transaction services.
• Well organized with an analytical approach to problem solving.
• Team player and able to work well across geographies and product partners.
• Able to lead and inspire team.
• Able to cope well under pressure.
• Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Business Administration or related field plus 15+ years experience at a global financial services company.
• FINRA Series 24, 79, 63 and 7 licenses.
