JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to lead and manage major, long-term real estate strategy projects and assignments for both public and private sector clients for a specific real estate consulting practice area within the organization..
• Engagement Leader responsible for sourcing and executing significant consulting assignments for Company in excess of $500k of revenue per year within the specific consulting practice area.
• Develops and maintains relationships with certain clients and is seen as the primary point of contact for those clients within Company.
• Develops a sub-specialty within the Consulting Practice and is viewed as the Subject Matter Expert for that topic within Company.
• Develops white papers and industry thought leadership for external publication and marketing.
• Participates as a spokesperson and facilitator at corporate real estate industry events.
• Drives innovation and thought leadership for the Company GCS platform.
• Is encouraged to explore other consulting and real estate service offerings that Company can provide with clients and refer potential additional business to the appropriate sales leaders and subject matter experts within Company.
• Directs the planning, organization, and controls for a local market area (LMA), a major corporate functional area or line of business (LOB) for a major client.
• May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports.
• Determines, monitors and reports on staffing levels, utilization and deployment of human resources within area of responsibility.
• Identifies key positions within area of responsibility and works with executive team and HR to develop effective succession plans.
• Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
• Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level of management for review and approval.
• Provides guidance and leadership to staff in areas of staffing, selection training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention of key contributors.
• Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.
• Masters degree in Business, Economics, Urban Studies, or related program or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of business consulting and real estate experience is required.
• Real estate license (where required by state law).
• Professional certification, professional designations (e.g. BCCR, CCIM, CPM, MAI) and/or graduate level training in commercial real estate is desirable.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.
• Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.
• Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
• Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates.
• Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions.
• Develops and implements financial policies and procedures.
• Approves and oversees department/division budget.
• Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
• Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment.
• Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• Highly collaborative in a team environment.
• Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
• Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results.
• Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines.
• Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
