Manager, Sales and Distribution - Motion Pictures Group

Company Releasing, Western Division – Sales and Distribution is responsible for putting Sony films in theatres in over half the country. We contact exhibitors to play the film, we negotiate a price for the film, we secure holdovers week after week to maximize the grossing potential of the film. Our office consistently produces top results due to hard-work and a cohesive environment.
The sales manager’s focus will be securing the maximum number of playdates, negotiating the best terms possible for film rental retention and maintaining Sony’s position in the marketplace week after week. Strong writing skills will be needed since they will be required to compile exhibitor reactions to our screenings and then compose a clear and concise report.
Core Responsibilities
• Securing initial playdates
• Insuring back up, intermediate, and move-over playdates
• Obtaining holdovers and updating the computer with the information
• Substantial phone contact with customers
• Negotiating film rental terms
• Aiding finance dept. In occasional collection problems
• Working on gross comparison charts as well as playdate charts
• Researching past and current grosses to determine distribution plans
• Running business object reports
• Checking schedules of theatres to insure proper showtimes
• Reconciling data reports
• Giving out sales plans to exhibitors
• Charting maps with theatre locations
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years experience in sales/entertainment/management
• Must have good communication skills
