Job Description
Manages, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of support staff in nutritional aspects of patient care. Serves as liaison to health care team on all pertinent patient and nutritional concerns.
Job Responsibility
- Provides leadership to Nutrition & Dietetics team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
- Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
- Implements policies and procedures regarding nutritional care for patients in collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Addresses and manages nutritional care in more complex patient care situations.
- Designs and conducts nutrition training programs for physicians, healthcare professionals, graduate students, and community, as needed.
- Assists management in the development of programs that support nutritional health of patients.
- Allocates staffing to various sites to provide services to outpatient clients, as needed.
- Represents and markets programs to external organizations, healthcare professionals, governmental agencies, community groups, schools, etc.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current Registered Dietician Certification with the Commissions on Dietetic Registration in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
