Manager Merchandising, US Training - Graphics
Purpose:
Executes business strategy to achieve net sales, net margin, inventory and SKU productivity for assigned category. Support long-term goals and strategy for assigned category to ensure global brand vision and corporate objects are met for the US market.
Key Accountabilities:
• Assists in developing the marketing strategy for the business from brief through range launch
• Build assortment plans by channel, which give clear product direction and information to the operational departments
• Assists in the collaboration with product marketing to develop category initiatives in order to meet key commercial goals. Drives end to end initiatives through to all departments
• Communicates SMU needs to Product Management on behalf of specific accounts
• Builds market/retailer network to maintain trend and product awareness
• Presents ranges internally and externally (to key retailers)
• Identifies the products that maximize profitability/productivity and present those to Management in a clear and concise format
• Communicates the pricing strategies for the assortment to Management to ensure we meet the business strategy as well as the targeted channel account segment
• Track and manage end-to-end business models / supply chain solutions to obtain greater profit and cash flow, by channel, by key accounts.
• Manage and support range assortment and merchandising by channels and accounts from merchandising tools to catalogs and floor plans.
• Assists in implementing activation plan to drive authentic stories with Sports marketing and Brand marketing.
• Creates seasonal forecasts, updates monthly.
• Manages the process with effective communication and action steps in order to achieve margin, profitability and inventory.
• Work with the Sales Managers and Concept-to-Consumer Managers to achieve goals by region, by channel by account.
• Update relevant systems and execute relevant reporting, depending on category.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional team
• Strong business acumen in channel distribution, net sales, margin, profit and inventory
• Strong presentation and communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to merchandise across channels and accounts
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Strong process and organization skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and working with systems/applications
• Category specific understanding preferred
• Prior knowledge of wholesale or retail preferred
• Ability to travel domestic and international up to 25%
Qualifications:
1. Four-year college or university degree
2. Minimum three (3) years industry related experience
3. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
4. Previous merchandising experience in the sporting goods industry preferred
