The Corporate Engagement Team works across Discovery’s portfolio to inform, engage and inspire our employees. Through global campaigns, events, global messaging and the One Discovery Portal, our employee intranet, we help to foster a culture of creativity, curiosity, and community giveback with the goal of creating engaged and inspired employees.
The Role
The Internal Communications Manager (located in Discovery’s UK office) will focus on driving employee engagement and clear communication through our global corporate campaigns, internal events, and the One Discovery Portal. Overall goals include developing new concepts and programs to help support our growing global workforce as well as advancing best practices for events and activations across the company. Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating events through vendor research, event communication and registration, and logistics; working with facilities and audio-visual teams to ensure client campaigns and events are executed in a timely fashion; and maintaining positive relationships with key partners and stakeholders. This position reports to the Internal Communications Director in the United States, with a dotted reporting line to the Internal Communications Senior Director in the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Represents the Corporate Engagement (CORE) Team internationally. Attends meetings and is primary conduit of information from the US to the UK and beyond.
• Works daily with the Director, Internal Communications, to oversee the planning, development, execution and evaluation of global campaigns including worldwide premieres for our linear and digital content and corporate campaigns including information security, HR, and Discovery Alerts.
• Assists Director with the planning and execution of corporate internal events including Town Halls, Innovation Awards, Creative Speaker Series, Competitive Edge events, etc.
• Identifies and develops opportunities to share corporate culture across all regions by working with local communications teams and engaging senior leadership.
• Partners with Internal Communications Manager in US to publish articles on the One Discovery Portal, provide reporting metrics as needed, and send global emails to the workforce.
• Supports the preparedness team by training in emergency response protocols, participating in planning meetings and simulations, and communicating with the workforce during emergency situations.
• Executes events onsite and travels to offices as needed to provide support to local teams with logistics, webcast, catering and audio-visual needs.
• Assists the Senior Director of Internal Communications (based in London) on key International-wide projects.
Requirements:
Qualifications & experience
• Qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or related field preferred.
• Experience in internal communications or related field

Preferred qualifications
• Strong event background including researching, planning and executing events either on-site or remotely.
• Experience of working in an international, matrixed organization.
• Interest in knowing or learning enterprise technology platforms.
