Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the arena to insure accurate, timely, demanding completion of conversion between events, including concerts, basketball, hockey and other ice events, and family shows. Individual will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the facility, oversee conversion if needed, hire, supervise and train employees, operate within approved departmental budget, manage and monitor OSHA compliance and Company safety initiatives, prepare weekly schedules, work on construction/renovation projects, assist in record keeping of building equipment, assist in the overall cleanliness of inside and outside of facility, assist Event Services dept. on show related requests, continuously monitor building needs and make recommendations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare weekly and monthly schedules for both part time and full time Operations and Conversion Staff
• Review the day-to-day department needs and recommend repairs and maintenance
• Hire, supervise and train new and existing employees
• Assist in keeping the inside and outside of the facility clean and organized
• Develop new ideas for construction, renovation, and upgrading projects on the inside and outside of facility
• Provide support for Engineering dept. on HVAC, ice plant, plumbing, electrical
• Work with Event Managers on all show related requests
• Monitor expenses and order supplies as needed
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the department
Requirements:
• A minimum education level of High School Diploma or its equivalency
• A minimum of 3+ years' experience in a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility
• Must have working knowledge of ice plant, HVAC system, plumbing and electrical
• Working knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in building operations
• Ability to work long hours on your feet while under pressure
• Ability to lead and supervise a large, diverse staff
• Above average written, verbal and computer skills
• Must have skills in planning, coordinating and establishing priorities
• Knowledge of safety practices in order to meet OSHA requirements
• Knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring spending
• Maintain professional and effective working relationships with all employees of the arena
• In addition to the major purpose and tasks of the job, this position will be required to perform a combination of supportive functions solely determined by the Director and/or General Manager of the facility.
