About Company Wealth Management – Private Banking
Private Banking implements a private and confidential approach to managing a portfolio of households requiring Wealth Management including high level banking, financial planning, value added advice, credit and other financial solutions, both domestic and international. Typical clients may be CEOs/senior executives, entrepreneurs, professionals and high net worth Canadian families. Clients will usually have complex banking and credit needs, and may require investment and/or succession planning.

Position Purpose:
The Credit Solutions Team located in Toronto is looking for a dedicated credit professional within the private client platform. The successful candidate will work with Managers Credit Structures and will be responsible for the credit solutions, administration and credit support for individual portfolio(s).
This role is a key contributor to delivering on the Company promise of superior service by providing innovative credit solutions, professional value-added advice and credit expertise to clients within Private Banking. In this role, you will offer a differentiated client experience through support of the Credit Solutions team within Private Banking. This position is developmental, preparing the successful candidate for a role as a Manager Credit Structures within 12-24 months, within the Private Banking credit team.
The position will be customized to meet the skill set of the successful applicant, but will focus on structuring credit submissions and working on credit proposals/submissions. The ideal candidate may come from a background in Personal Banking and Commercial Markets lending. Previous experience with high net worth clients is an asset, but not a requirement.
As the successful candidate you will be known for your demonstrated skill in structuring credit submissions and organization. Others would describe you as having confidence, self motivation, possessing a positive attitude and being team orientated. Strong communication skills both written and verbal are essential.
Key Accountabilities:
Partnering with Managers Credit Structures, you will be responsible for credit and financial analysis, visas, mortgages and loans requests, credit renewals and other credit administration / support. Furthermore you will contribute to meeting team objectives and related activities aligned to the value proposition and managing credit risk and administration on shared client files.
Key focus for our lending activities encompasses the following:
• Commitment to a disciplined credit environment founded on thorough discovery, rigorous underwriting / credit structuring and diligent loan monitoring.
• Ability to develop creative and customized credit solutions tailored to the needs and financial position of a high net worth customer base.
• A focus on proactive lending opportunities both within the existing portfolio as well as new customer opportunities.
• Successful leveraging of and partnering with other areas of expertise within the Bank to develop comprehensive solutions (i.e. commercial markets, capital markets, risk management).
The successful candidate will require a sound understanding of credit (both personal and business/commercial) and the ability adhere to a disciplined credit culture.
Knowledge / Experience:
• Knowledge of and strong background in granting personal and/or commercial credit.
• Previous lending/CASPER experience with full knowledge of credit products
• Sound knowledge of personal lending procedures and risk assessment
• Proven ability to understand and interpret financial statements
• Strong client relationship skills
• Demonstrated partnering and cross-platform leveraging abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client focus, proven negotiating skills, results oriented
• Canadian Securities Course, PFP and/or CFP or MBA an asset
• Company Banking Product Knowledge an asset
