It delivers next-generation digital experiences for today’s demanding users, whether it be their favorite TV shows, catching up with friends via social media or shopping for the latest gadgets. Built on top of one of the world’s largest networks, our platform easily handles your users’ appetite for instant, secure and always-on media, anytime, anywhere.
Job Description
This position requires monitoring and supporting Live event workflows on the upLynk Platform. The candidate will assist in managing and verifying client streams by monitoring the end user experience on browsers and multiple devices. Ultimately, the candidate will be trained on the end to end VDMS Platform features and technological requirements of managing an Over The Top (OTT) Live event independently. Once the candidate demonstrates expertise in identifying all the parameters of a healthy video transmission, they will be allowed to participate in publishing the event, insert notification slates, and end the event by following the guidance of a control room Associate Director.
Candidates will be evaluated at end of a 6 week period to determine if they demonstrate the ability, or show the aptitude, for a contract part-time position in the Live Events upon graduation from college.
Qualifications
The position requires an operator to show an interest in legacy broadcast programming and how that technology translates into modern OTT workflows. The candidate will manipulate proprietary applications that begin and end a Live sporting event, insert commercial break markers into the stream and allow for weather delay or technical difficulties announcements. The operator will be trained in broadcast control room etiquette and hierarchies that are critical in our industry. The Operator will eventually take instructions directly from the control room broadcasting the event. During the event, the operator will also trigger commercial breaks, and count the broadcast control room back into the broadcast. Attention to detail, situational awareness and a basic knowledge of video production procedures will be required to competently publish and authenticate live transmissions.
