The Leadership Development Program Finance Internship provides a select group of college students in their junior year an opportunity to experience working in Finance at Company for 10 weeks over the summer. Interns will be placed in one of the many finance departments at the Home Office. After a week of intensive training, interns have the opportunity to work on projects that impact the business. This program is structured to allow interns to take on a great deal of responsibility quickly and gain immediate exposure to senior leadership.
The Finance Internship is a paid internship based at our Home Office near Columbus, OH. Interns will be paid $9,000 for the 10 week program with benefits including housing for the duration of the program, merchandise discounts at all of our brands, and use of the A&F gym. There will also be organized social events throughout the summer.
FINANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Some areas where interns may be placed include:
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS
As a member of a long term, strategic planning group focused on future projections, associates play a crucial role in the successful execution of the A&F strategy for international growth. In addition, the Financial Planning and Analysis team partners with the Merchandise Planning group to ensure the company is poised for future growth.
FINANCIAL REPORTING
Oversees all corporate budgets and projections. Key responsibilities include partnering with multiple business areas in order to assess risks and opportunities as the economic outlook and business strategy evolve, preparing the earnings release analysis on quarterly performance and presenting monthly forecast updates to Finance leadership.
ACCOUNTING
Act as a technical accounting resource for A&F business units, manage company controls of the reconciliation process and ensuring continuous compliance in the companies reporting.
TREASURY
Supports all aspects of treasury operations which include supporting the cash forecasting process and contributing to the global cash management strategy.
BUSINESS UNIT FINANCE
Analysts will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliation, forecasting/budgeting, variance analysis and performance reporting. Partnering with business unit teams to complete activity-based costing to facilitate decisions on reducing costs.
CAPITAL PROJECTS
Responsible for overseeing A&F’s capital investments to ensure return on investment, stringent cost management and compliance in regulatory standards for all assets and asset related financial activity.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this opportunity, all candidates must have:
• Junior status working towards a Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Proven leadership experience
• Ability to thrive in team-based settings
• Passion for the role and the A&F brands
• Desire to take on the responsibility of running a portion of a multi-billion dollar business
• Finance, Accounting Economics majors preferred
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently with senior-level leaders
• Analytical and organizational skills
