Who You Are:
Company is seeking a Knowledge Management Intern for an approximately three-month long paid internship opportunity. The ideal candidate will be a current student or recent graduate from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program in Library and Information Science (MLIS, MLS).
The Knowledge Management Intern will gain hands-on knowledge management experience to learn best practices for managing digital files, content, and knowledge resources and implement changes to help build our self-serve knowledge library.
You are comfortable with working remotely and have a keen interest in learning new tools and technologies, including Microsoft SharePoint and Slack, to develop and curate information. You have a strong understanding of collections maintenance and search strategies and understand the importance of highlighting resources to serve and inform a global community.
Your Next Challenge:
The Knowledge Management Intern will shadow and support the Enterprise Knowledge Management team to learn best practices in curating, managing, and highlighting user-facing digital resources. You will assist with the assessment, review, and migration of content in line with enterprise information architecture standards to build or design intranet sites. You will gain direct technical experience with a knowledge management system (SharePoint), migration tool (ShareGate), and communications tool (Slack). You will partner with a team of cross-functional subject matter experts to surface key resources and highlight opportunities to improve knowledge sharing.

What You'll Need:
- Minimum 1 year completion of ALA-accredited Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS, MLS) or comparable program
- Knowledge and experience of knowledge management and/or collections management principles
- Strong technical capabilities, including ease with digital workspaces and cloud-based file storage systems
- Highly effective communicator with a passion for user-centric service
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to adjust to shifting priorities
- Ability to focus and stay in good communication while working remotely
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive
- Experience with taxonomy and managed metadata or cataloging standards
- Interest in learning about other areas of the Company business
What You Can Expect:
- The internship will run approximately three months (20-hours/week for 13 weeks)
- This internship will be remote/work from home.
- Hours can be flexible; the regular schedule will be determined with the manager depending on academic needs
