G-III Apparel Group, the world's premier designer and manufacturer of quality leather outerwear, dresses, women's suits, sportswear and accessories, with a comprehensive portfolio of over 30 licensed and wholly-owned brands, including Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, Levi’s, Dockers, Jessica Simpson, Vince Camuto, Ellen Tracy, Kensie, Ivanka Trump, and G.H. Bass, among others is seeking a junior graphic designer to join their team based in New York City.
Responsibilities:
• Develop systems of branding and revised applications relating to the new DKNY identity.
• Work closely with Art Directors to develop fresh, creative and original solutions in response to project briefs. Design print/packaging pieces that reflect the brand and use bold and innovative production methods and materials to aid the product to stand out amongst competitor products.
• Layout all print mechanicals, in-store and corporate graphics to provided specifications and ensure printable files are properly formatted before releasing to an external vendor.
• Work with the Studio Manager to maintain realistic production timelines and clearly communicate project status.
• Continually ensure consistency and quality in design and production across all collateral—print and digital.
• Work with outside vendors to produce printed materials.
• Assist with DKNY Fashion Week shows, photoshoots, and lookbook production. Ensure that all production needs are met and the involved parties receive all assets.
• Hire and manage the Graphics Studio Interns. Guide them through brand immersion, distribute daily tasks, and provide continual feedback on a semester-long project.
Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of typography and knowledge of printing and digital design processes are required
• Minimum 4 years graphic design experience
• Fashion/retail experience preferred
• BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
• Highly proficient in InDesign, Creative Cloud, Keynote, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and on a Mac platform
