We are looking for Manager, Public Relations to sit within Company franchise team and lead publicity strategies for Star Wars games and publishing. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience with high profile brands who can work across multiple divisions and with various levels of management throughout both the Disney and Company organizations as well as multiple external partners.
Responsibilities
• Oversee publicity teams for both internal and external partners to collaboratively develop, manage and implement strategic communication plans for both the Star Wars publishing program and the games team. For publishing, this ranges across categories such as fiction novels, non-fiction, comic books, activity books and more with over X different partners. For games, this includes mobile, console and PC games working with across multiple partners, both external and internal.
• Must be able to manage multiple partners and projects at once to ensure overall Star Wars priorities are met.
• Work daily with marketing/production teams both internal and external on a range of game titles across multiple platforms and have command of broader Company games portfolio.
• Collaborate directly with events, internal, international, executive and corporate PR teams at Disney and Company to lead gaming and publishing campaigns
• Prepare briefing for trade shows and events
• Work closely with the various internal teams at Company to determine key messages for high profile releases.
• Pitch and place coverage with key trade and consumer press on an as-needed basis
• Embrace Star Wars and Company brand pillars, franchise initiatives and PR strategies. Must have working understanding of overall franchise priorities and be able to provide Company brand guidance to partners on all aspects of game and publishing campaigns.
• Manage review process for media materials and assets at Company.
• Crisis management on an as-needed basis.
• Stay up to date on trends within the gaming and publishing community and overall Star Wars gaming/publishing sentiment.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
• 5-7 Years experience in Public Relations or Communications specifically working with big brands
• Must have experience owning and implementing high-level communication strategies.
• Must be able to cultivate relationships and able to manage multiple projects at once.
• Must have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be self-sufficient and comfortable working across various levels of management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Public Relations experience in games/publishing
Required Education
• Bachelor’s Degree required
