The IT Delivery Lead – B&M (Buying and Merchandising) is the owner for the IT applications / platforms that support Company’s product and merchandising, used by all the Company brands.
The role is accountable for delivering the applications and their enhancements to various projects and programmes, as well identifying and delivering any changes needed for improving the in-life performance of the applications. The role will also identify and deliver the technical strategy for the applications. The IT Delivery Lead – B&M is one of the primary points of contact between IT and the Business and will hold a pivotal role in setting and executing IT strategy for product and merchandising and delivering business benefits.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Application / Service Ownership: Owns the IT applications / services including the underlying infrastructure components and has an up-to-date understanding of the business processes and functions using them.
• Applications Strategy / Roadmap: Owns and manages the roadmaps ensuring the applications have an agreed plan to meet Company business’ future needs (including capacity)
• Technical Delivery: Accountable for optimal estimations, ensures on-time and quality delivery of the applications through proactive management of risk and dependencies.
◦ Monitors and ensures high quality application delivery alignment to agreed timelines and budgets.
◦ Plans the overall work of the application team taking into account demands from the projects / programmes, other changes, operational stability and performance.
• Vendor / Supplier Management:
◦ Influences vendor direction and roadmap in line with Company needs
◦ Assures vendor estimates, delivery performance and quality
◦ Drives best value for Company in all vendor engagements and deliverables
◦ Influence sourcing strategy for IT Application Delivery and Maintenance to enable Company’s current and future commitments
• Application Maintenance:
◦ Accountable for proactive maintenance & timely response from the application (3rd Line) and product vendor (4th Line) supplier teams to maximise IT Availability, Performance & Customer Experience.
◦ Acts as Single Point of Escalation for IT Operations Teams (1st / 2nd Line) to provide 3rd / 4th Line support towards in-SLA Major Incident Service Restoration, Root Cause Analysis and Fixes, Performance, Service and Customer Experience Improvements.
◦ Contributes to ongoing Service Improvements Plans maintained by IT Operations and implements agreed improvements in a sustainable way through the application and product vendor supplier teams.
◦ Ensures Service / Operational Readiness of the applications (Including but not limited to application resilience, up-to-date operational documentation, monitoring capability, standard operating and recovery procedures)
◦ Develops and maintains knowledge articles to minimise dependencies on personal knowledge and to avoid potential single points of failure within the team.
• Budgetary Control: Sizes the application delivery and maintenance teams according to budgeted demand, escalating when commitments cannot be met. Monitors, controls and reports spend against budget for the team on an on-going basis.
• Other responsibilities:
◦ Acts as Single Point of Contact for all stakeholders regarding the application roadmaps and risks
◦ Participates in Risk Committees, Systems Boards and other governance / strategy forums
◦ Acts as a focal point on Security Standards, Policy and Compliance Status for the Applications. Works with IT Operations to determine gaps between Company requirements and current state. Drives strategic actions as appropriate through roadmaps to close gaps and identify where concessions will be required.
◦ Develops business cases for and delivers changes required by the roadmaps. Expedites through governance and escalates unresolved risks as appropriate.
◦ Leads the technical community in product and merchandising, establishing a network of participants to support subject matter expertise driven activities
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent subject matter expertise in product and merchandising with solid experience in many of the following areas;
◦ Experience in defining and delivering large scale Purchasing and Merchandising IT solutions in an outsourced, offshored set up.
◦ Experience of working with Oracle RMS (Retail Merchandising System.)
◦ Experience of driving innovation across the supply chain and product lifecycle.
◦ Experience of working within a multi-brand, multi-location environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
