JOB SUMMARY
The Intern works in partnership with the department to coordinate, manage, and participate in community engagement events. Provide organization, collaboration and support to the staff and volunteers within an environment that is mission, vision, and value-driven for community related activities.
- Manage, assist and support with calendar of community engagement events.
- Identify new event opportunities.
- Generate new ideas to increase participation in community engagement events.
- Maintain database of volunteers.
- Promote community engagements events.
- Collaborate with other departments.
- Evaluate, order, and maintain supplies.
- Provide post- community engagement event feedback.
- Manage incoming correspondence by receiving, opening and routing.
- Write content for social media for community engagement events.
Communication: Demonstrates effective interpersonal communications skills.
- Engages in active listening, asking questions when appropriate.
- Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations when requested.
- Effectively uses various technology communication methods to keep stakeholders informed of progress of projects and/or issues.
- Maintains good working relationships and rapport with project stakeholders, as well as internal and external clients and or vendors.
Teamwork: Seeks opportunities to increase business satisfaction and deepen relationships.
- Improves team performance by mentoring, training, and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation.
Professional Competency: Enhances professional competency through continuing education and researching of material internally or externally.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills.
- Uses critical thinking to assist in decision making and issue resolution.
- Updates professional skills by taking educational classes as needed.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Please provide needed education, such as 2 Year/Associate degree or 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree in related field or Minimum GPA of 3.0, if currently enrolled in Bachelor program).
Experience: Please provide experience, such as 2, 3 or 4+ years of experience in related field.

Licensure: Valid Driver’s License
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficient in the use of a digital camera. Working knowledge of social media. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management. Strong ability to problem solve. Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines. Ability to travel between facilities, events and activities regionally.
Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: General knowledge of community and region.

The job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
