Purpose: Overseeing the smart engineering aspects of all products developed in the designated creation centers. Key Responsibilities: • Drive smart engineering (pattern, computer stitching and processes) across multiple product teams of the designated Development centres (1-3 DCs) in ensuring that products consistently exceed customer expectations in respect to fit, comfort, design integrity, performance, perceived value, manufacturability and quality. • Drive consistent implementation and trouble shoot new process and technology implementation (No Sew, others) across all manufacturing facilities. • Exhibits “product eyes” and sports competence-have a feel for styling, product cosmetics, product construction and manufacturing technologies in order to influence and drive the overall product direction of the specific category(s) he/she manages. • Act as LO Resident Industrial Engineering expert responsible for training/teaching and knowledge sharing and continuously upgrading shoes engineering and overall design for manufacturing expertise across the supply chain. • Give consultation to product teams (Design, Marketing and Development) and external parties (Factory Development Heads) on smart engineering aspects with overachieving focus on quality and efficiency Key Relationships: • HQ and OC (Operations Center) Product Teams (Design, Marketing, Brand Ops, OC development) • Factory Development Head • Senior Operations Manager; Senior Manager, Product Creation • ME (Manufacturing Excellence) Dept • Factory tech teams. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Good knowledge of shoes manufacturing process. • Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem solving. • Can independently lead LO based projects within defined scope of product / industrial engineering. • Good interpersonal and English communication skills. • Ability to effectively interact with different departments (Marketing, Design, Factories) via phone, written communication and in person. • German, Chinese, Indonesia or Vietnamese language knowledge an advantage. Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Footwear Sports Science or other manufacturing related degree. • 4-5 years of technical experience in mechanical engineering, pattern making and automation in lieu of engineer degree.
