DESCRIPTION:
The Simon & Schuster Human Resources Assistant will support the HR Generalists in delivering support to our various client groups. The entry level role covers a variety of support activities in the delivery of HR services in keeping with Company Policy & Procedure and best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing support and advice to line managers in all aspects of the employee HR cycle
Preparing various monthly management reports on the employee population .
Help coordinate HR initiatives and processes including annual comp reviews, ensuring compliance with requirements.
Coordinate new hire orientation bi-weekly.
Maintain all hard copy personnel files, and assist with HRIS data records..
Monitor and advise managers on performance management completion and results tracking.
Consult with and advise HR partners and employees on various benefits issues, including eligibility, plan provisions, procedures, questions, and claims appeal procedures.
Provide guidance regarding benefits plans and policy interpretation.
Conduct exit interviews as appropriate and provide summary feedback as necessary.
Assist with coordination of company training and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong desire to grow career in HR
Superior organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to think proactively and analytically
Working effectively in a team environment
Intermediate or above excel experience
Familiarity with Microsoft office preferred.
